How to calculate GST
Adding GST: GST amount = original price × GST rate ÷ 100. Total = original price + GST amount. For example, ₹10,000 at 18% has ₹1,800 GST, for a total of ₹11,800.
Removing GST: original price = GST-inclusive amount × 100 ÷ (100 + GST rate). For example, ₹11,800 including 18% GST has a taxable value of ₹10,000.
CGST, SGST or IGST?
When the supplier and the place of supply are in the same state, the GST is split equally into CGST and SGST (9% + 9% for an 18% item). For supplies to another state, the full rate is charged as IGST. Loov Invoice does this automatically from your customer's GSTIN.
